The ruins of Nitovikla Castle are situated on the Karpaz Peninsula's south-eastern coast, close to Kuruova. The late Bronze Age fortification was built around 1500 BC. Originally just 100 meters off the shore, it consisted of a seemingly empty rectangular area surrounded by ramparts, and an adjacent smaller fortification with thick walls.
The site was discovered by Erik Sjöqvist 1929. Other ancient sites are supposedly awaiting discovery in its vicinity.
